Alex is a member of the GB Alpine World Cup squad. She has received grant support through the Skiers Trust’s Snowsports Competitor, Penny Mabey and Ladies Ski Club Funds over several years as she developed her early career. She is a member of our Pool of Talent.

Alex is a regular competitor on the World Cup circuit. She has a career best thirteenth in the GS, gained at Courchevel, in winter 2017.

2020 saw her in the World Cup top 30 rankings for the second time which was just reward for the previous five years effort developing her experience. She scored her first points in the World Cup when she finished nineteenth in the GS in Lienz in December 2015.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang she competed in both the women’s slalom and GS events.

At the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz, she finished thirtieth in the GS and twenty fifth in the slalom.

Alex has been competing in the European Cup for seven years since 2013. On the FIS circuit, she has 28 podium finishes with seventeen wins with nine in GS and six in slalom with two in SuperG.

Alex is from Torphins in Scotland and began skiing whilst at primary school withher local club, the Gordon Skiers. At ten years old she raced in her first race abroad at the “Mini Brits”, the British Championships for under 12s, and never looked back. At sixteen she left school to pursue her skiing ambitions. Six years later she competed in the Giant Slalom at the World Championships in Beaver Creek, USA.

The Skiers Trust began supporting Alex several years ago when she was beginning her competitive career. She is an example of the young people with snowsports potential who the Trust attempts to identify and provide much needed help in order for them to develop their talent.
