Jaz is one of the world’s leading Telemark skiers competing in World Cup and World Ski Championships over many years. She has received grant support through the Skiers Trust’s Snowsports Competitor, Penny Mabey and Ladies Ski Club Funds as she has developed her career. She is a member of our Pool of Talent.

Ranked in the top five in the world, Jaz has achieved five World Cup victories, across all three Telemark disciplines, and has 33 World Cup podiums to her name. She is the first Briton to win a Telemark World Championship medal and is six times British Champion.

Jaz’s journey to Telemark skiing began with joining the British Ski Academy at twelve years old as a very promising alpine skier. She made the England Freestyle Ski Team in 2009 after having become the youngest ever British Ski Cross Champion. During this time, she started Telemark skiing in which she showed potential on a far larger scale when she competed in the French Cup series achieving multiple podium finishes.

Invited to join the British Telemark Ski Team, in 2011 she competed in Telemark at her first World Junior Championships. Jaz has been an integral, and now leading member, of the team ever since.

During winter, she is based in Chamonix where she has best access to training facilities and, as importantly, her coach. Her exceptional talent for telemarking, allied to persistency and hard-work is matched by fierce determination and ambition. Her aim is to be World Champion.

The Skiers Trust has continued to support Jaz as she has progressed her career. She is an example of the young people with snowsports potential who the Trust attempts to identify and provide much needed help in order for them to develop their talent.
