Marcus is half English and half Norwegian and has been skiing since the age of three. He studied Engineering at Newcastle University and joined the British Army in 2018. He is a Captain and trains full-time as an elite athlete.

Marcus first competed in biathlon in 2019 through the British Army and was quickly selected for the GB Development Squad. In 2021, he made his first debut at the International Biathlon Union Cup representing the GB Team.

He was selected to join Team Blåne in Lillehammer, Norway in March 2022 for their training season. Team Blåne is a professional biathlon team and provide monthly training camps, 3-5 coached sessions a week, testing, training plans and a fantastic group to train with.

His goal is to qualify for one of the 12 Olympic wildcards available for smaller nations at the 2026 Milan Winter Games.

RESULTS

Number 1 Great British biathlete.

Top 80 on International Biathlon Union Cup in my first international season.

1st place in Austrian Cup (2021).

Top 20 in 30km Gran Fondo Val Casies (Italy) race out of 400+ competitors (2022).
