At the 2020 Youth Winter Olympics she equalled the best ever British Biathlon performance with twelfth in the Sprint in a field of a hundred. At the 2018 British Biathlon Championships, held at the world-famous Ruhpolding stadium, she was British Biathlon Overall Champion. She was first junior in all three disciplines, overall winner in Sprint, and third overall in both Individual and Mass Start.

She currently races in French national biathlon events as a member of the Pyrenees Regional Biathlon Team having begun competing in biathlon events in 2013. She began skiing at her local club in the Pyrenees where she trained under Bruno and Claudine Magdinier, well known for training thirteen-time world champion Martin Fourcade and his older brother Simon in their formative years.

Shawna is an example of the young people with snowsports potential who the Skiers Trust attempts to identify and provide much needed help in order for them to develop their talent.
